Secretary of State Miller Launches "My Voter File;" Web Tool Gives Voter Registration Status, Voting History, and Caucus/Polling Locations
Voters Can Get Up-To-Date Information at SilverState08.com
Carson City, NV – A new, web-based tool available at SilverState08.com can tell Nevadans their current voter registration status, as well as their recent voting history, and their caucus and polling locations. “We want to do everything we can to encourage voter turnout at the caucuses and at the polls,” said Secretary of State Ross Miller. Accessibility and information are essential to voter participation, and the information at this website will be of great help to Nevadans who are not sure of their registration status, or of the location of their caucus or polling place.”
To use “My Voter File” Nevadans can visit SilverState08.com, click the link to “My Voter File”, and enter their first and last names, date of birth, and either a driver’s license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number. The requirement of a driver’s license or social security number ensures voter privacy and confidentiality. The voting history will display the dates of elections in which the voter participated and the polling place at which the vote was cast, but will not show the specific ballot choices made by the voter.
“With the approaching caucuses this will be a great tool for identifying your caucus location,” said Miller. “We have plans to expand the services of this website in the coming months to offer even more services to both registered voters and those who want to get registered.”
